When hitting the “Play” button, also right-clicking, and then clicking “Loop”, loops the video and gives a nice turntable of Charlie’s stages.

Charlie was a rig I made for the LIVE Lab at Texas A&M. I was originally a Designer for about 9 months before I transitioned to the 3D team after my study abroad. I’ve been working at the lab in total now for more than 2 years.

The lab originally had a partnership with SideFX Houdini and made it so we weren’t allowed to do anything using Maya. This posed a lot of problems for any characters made for our games because Houdini just isn’t a software package that accommodates a lot of the comforts both Riggers and Animators are used to in Maya.

So Charlie was the answer to those problems! I spent several months really figuring out how to create a truly robust rig in Houdini and ended up with a product that is currently able to export and be used in an upcoming project currently in development!
